CO2 compressor is a mechanical device designed to increase the pressure of carbon dioxide gas for industrial, energy, or environmental applications. Due to CO2's unique thermodynamic properties (e.g., high critical pressure of 7.38 MPa), these compressors require specialized materials and designs to handle supercritical/dense-phase conditions.
(1) Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage (CCUS)
Compresses CO2 from power plants/industrial emissions (0.1-0.5 MPa) to 10-15 MPa for pipeline transport or underground storage using corrosion-resistant coatings.
(2) Food & Beverage Industry
Low-pressure compression (1-2 MPa) for carbonation in soft drinks and beer. Utilizes oil-free screw compressors to ensure gas purity.
(3) Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
Injects supercritical CO2 (10+ MPa) into oil reservoirs to boost extraction using high-pressure reciprocating compressors.
